OVERVIEW
Science 37 was founded by dermatologists Noah Craft and Belinda Tan around a revolutionary idea: bring clinical trials to patients instead of requiring patients to travel to research sites.
The company began as an ISBX client, secured funding, and quickly became something much bigger. Several ISBX leaders joined the growing startup—including Kelly Chu as CTO and me first as Creative Director, then Director of Product Design.
THE EVOLUTION
2014 - FROM CLIENT TO COMPANY
I initially provided broad creative leadership, strengthening the existing Science 37 brand and helping a small founding team communicate an entirely new model of clinical research.
2014–2017 — Building NORA
I led the product design vision for NORA, Science 37’s first decentralized clinical trial platform. The mobile and web experience connected patients, researchers, coordinators, and physicians—making participation possible beyond the traditional clinical site.
2017–2018 — Designing for scale
As Director of Product Design, I led the vision for a more expansive second-generation platform designed to support larger studies, more complex workflows, and a rapidly growing organization.
THE OUTCOME
Science 37 grew from a handful of people into a company of more than 200 employees and eventually went public on Nasdaq. My role was helping translate its disruptive premise into a coherent brand and a product experience that could make remote clinical research real.
